License and updates

How activation, the 2-Mac limit, the update period, renewal, offline use, and refunds work.

Atomus is a one-time purchase. There's no subscription and no sign-up. Your purchase email is your license.

What you get

  • $29, once. Paid through Paddle, our Merchant of Record, which handles VAT and sales tax.
  • 1 year of updates, starting on the purchase date.
  • Up to 2 Macs at the same time.
  • Every version released during your update period keeps working. Nothing is switched off when the year ends.

Activating

After checkout you get an email with your license key. In Atomus, enter the email you used at checkout and the key. That's it.

The first activation on each Mac needs an internet connection. Lost the email? Get your key again at atomus.app/support.

Using 2 Macs, and moving to a new one

Each license works on up to 2 Macs at once. To free a slot:

  • On the Mac you're leaving: Settings → License → Deactivate. Your notes stay on that Mac.
  • If you no longer have it: sign in at atomus.app/support and deactivate it there. You sign in with a link sent to your purchase email. There's no password.

Then activate on the new Mac with the same email and key.

Offline use and the license check

After activation, Atomus works offline. Every few days it checks your license in the background, sending only your email, license key, an anonymous device ID, and your Mac's name. If the check can't reach our server, Atomus keeps working and tries again later.

When the update period ends

After a year, you keep using Atomus as it is. You just don't get versions released after your update period ends. You can see the end date in Settings → License.

If you want newer versions, renew for $29 for another year of updates. Renewal is optional. Renew at atomus.app/renew with your license email, from Settings → License in the app, or from atomus.app/support. The year is added to your existing license and key.

If you install a version released after your update period, Atomus offers to install the version your license covers in one click, or to renew. You can also download that version from atomus.app/support. The same applies when you reinstall or set up a new Mac after your updates have expired.

Refunds

There's no trial. Instead, every purchase has a 30-day money-back guarantee. If Atomus isn't for you, email support@atomus.app within 30 days for a full refund.
