Shortcuts

The keys that matter in Atomus – atomify, reviews, and the editor.

You can see every shortcut in Settings → Shortcuts. The atomify shortcut can be changed there. The rest follow the app menus.

Atomify

  • ⌥ A atomifies the line under the cursor when the Atomus editor is focused. Atomus asks your AI provider for atoms and writes them under the line. Change it in Settings → Shortcuts → Atomify line.

In a review

  • Space reveals the answer
  • H shows a hint
  • 1 Forgotten, 2 Took a while, 3 Remembered
  • K marks the atom as mastered
  • X suspends the atom
  • Esc folds the card back into the pill

Command palette

  • ⌘ P searches notes and runs actions
  • ⌘ K opens the palette

Tabs and windows

  • ⌘ T new tab
  • ⌘ W close tab
  • ⌃ ⇥ / ⌃ ⇧ ⇥ next and previous tab
  • ⌘ 1–⌘ 9 jump to a tab
  • ⌘ ⇧ D split right
  • ⌘ ⌃ ⇧ D split down
  • ⌘ ⇧ T keep the window on top
  • ⌘ , Settings

Editor

  • ⌘ B bold, ⌘ I italic, ⌘ ⇧ X strikethrough
  • ⌘ D duplicate line
  • ⌘ ⌥ ↑ / ⌘ ⌥ ↓ move line up or down
  • ⌘ ⇧ L toggle checklist
  • ⌘ ↵ toggle checkbox
  • ⌘ F find, ⌘ ⌥ F find and replace
  • ⌘ S save, ⌘ O open file

View

  • ⌘ ⇧ B toggle backlinks
  • ⌘ + / ⌘ - / ⌘ 0 increase, decrease, and reset font size

Click the Atomus icon in the menu bar to bring the editor window forward. Click it again while the window is in front for a menu with more options.
