Overview
Atomus is a local-first application. Your notes, atoms, and review data stay on your device. We do not collect, store, or have access to your content.
What we collect
License validation: When you activate your license key, we verify it with Paddle's API. This sends your license key and a machine identifier. No personal content is transmitted.
Crash reports: If enabled by you, anonymous crash reports may be sent to help us fix bugs. These contain no personal data or note content.
Update checks: The App periodically checks for new versions. This sends only the current version number and your platform.
What we do not collect
We do not collect, transmit, or have access to:
- Your notes or atom content
- Your review history or learning data
- Your files or vault contents
- Analytics or usage telemetry
Payment data
Payments are handled by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record. We do not store your credit card or payment details. Paddle's privacy policy governs how your payment information is processed.
Third-party services
The only third-party service Atomus communicates with is Paddle (for license validation). If you enable optional AI features in the future, those will use external APIs, clearly disclosed before activation.
Data storage
All your data is stored locally on your Mac in your vault directory (~/Atomus/). You own your data and can export, back up, or delete it at any time. Uninstalling the App does not delete your vault.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Significant changes will be communicated via our website.
